Ohio Senator Looks to Strengthen Manufacturing Sector

April 17, 2007 – Sen. Sherrod Brown introduced legislation last week aimed at strengthening the federal Manufacturing Extension Program (MEP).

The Growth Opportunity Bill (GO Bill) would add a low-interest loan program to the MEP, a program aimed at assisting small manufacturing companies.

According to analysis by the Senator’s office, Ohio has lost 185,000 manufacturing jobs since 2001.
