Sanders’ Vows To Fight Outsourcing Of U.S. Jobs

The comment in a phone interview came as Sanders, labor union leaders and workers gathered at a Winooski factory that shut down last year due to overseas competition to decry the effects of “outsourcing” — companies closing plants in the United States and shipping jobs to cheaper labor markets elsewhere in the world.

Sanders went to bat for Capital City workers after the U.S. Department of Labor had denied retraining benefits to worker at the Barre-based company; the agency later reversed that decision.

Sanders, who is seeking the U.S. Senate seat being left open by the retirement of Sen. James Jeffords, I-Vt., said he would continue to fight to lessen the effects of outsourcing on American workers. Read the enitre article here.
