Sluggish Job Growth in July

August 3, 2007 – The Bureau of Labor Statistics announced today that the U.S. created only 92,000 jobs last month, the fewest number of jobs created in a single month since February.

Additionally, the jobless rate was 4.6 percent and job loss was highest in the manufacturing, construction and retail industries.
