Study Finds Dismal Working Conditions at Wal-Mart Factories in Southern China

December 16, 2005 – China Labor Watch and the National Labor Committee have released two reports on Wal-Mart factories in Southern China outlining the dismal working conditions Chinese employees must endure.

Some of the findings from both factories include:
· Workers receive dismal wages while being forced to work up to 13 hours a day in hot dormitories.
· Workers are denied health insurance, maternity leave, paid holiday leave and marital leave.
· Workers are coached on what exactly to say to factory inspectors.
