Suspend Funding for Forest Service Privatization

The administration’s scheme to privatize social security may be dead, but the wholesale privatization of government work continues. The effects of this so-called A-76 competitive sourcing program at Walter Reed are well known. In the Forest Service, it is destroying the agency’s ability to fulfill its mission, including its key homeland security responsibility to provide first responders to wildfires and other emergency incidents, and wasting hundreds of millions of taxpayers’ dollars.
This program has nothing to do with increasing efficiency and everything to do with rewarding political contributors and breaking federal unions. The Whitehouse has ordered the agency to ignore current Congressional restrictions and accelerate the outsourcing. Urge your Senators and Representative to stop the outsourcing of the Forest Service.
