U.S. Workers Remain Worried About Jobs

November 16, 2005 – Nearly 24 percent of American workers feel it is possible they will lose their job in the next year, up from 19 percent six months ago. A global survey conducted by Right Management Consulting finds that U.S. workers are among the least confident among leading global economies, with only the United Kingdom and Canada less secure.

However, workers in the UK and Canada have more confidence they will be able to replace their current job should they lose it. Roughly 80 percent of American workers say it would be difficult to find a similar job at similar pay if their job was lost.
