IAM Local 794 member Crystal Zamora was among dozens of members strengthening their skills to fight for workers through advanced arbitration training at the William W. Winpisinger Education and Technology Center.

As president of the Metal Trades Council at Sandia National Laboratories, Zamora is preparing for an upcoming arbitration case and says the training is helping her build the knowledge and confidence needed to effectively represent her fellow IAM members.

“The opportunity to learn from experienced labor representatives in a collaborative classroom environment has been incredibly valuable,” said Zamora. “This training is giving me the tools to advocate for our members and prepare for the challenges that come with arbitration.”

The Winpisinger Center’s arbitration program provides IAM members with hands-on instruction in grievance handling, case preparation, presenting arguments and protecting workers’ rights on the job. Through programs like this, the IAM continues investing in strong union leadership and preparing members to stand up for fairness and justice in the workplace.
