China Posts Record Trade Surplus

October 19, 2006 – Just nine months into the year, China has already posted their highest annual trade surplus on record at $110.9 billion. China’s trade surplus for all of 2005 was $102 billion.

Coming less than a month after the U.S. trade deficit with China hit a record $22 billion in August, news of China’s record surplus puts further pressure on China to further revalue their artificially low currency.
