Litigation Delays NMB Representation Election Change Until June 30

The National Mediation Board (NMB) is delaying the effective date of its rule regarding representation election procedures. The ATA is suing the NMB for the election rule chance. ATA’s request for discovery was denied by the court. The NMB is delaying the implementation of the rule for 20 days until June 30, 2010 because of the litigation.

“Again it goes to show how far some people will go to take away the rights of the middle class worker,” said TCU International President Bob Scardelletti. “The NMB rule changes finally make representation elections fair and democratic; those who oppose it are opposing freedom!”
