District 751 Members Ratify New Contract with Doss Aviation

IAM District 751 members working for Doss Aviation have ratified a new three-year contract.

The contract covers about 15 specialists who refuel military airplanes and helicopters at Joint Base Lewis-McChord and the U.S. Army’s Yakima Training Center in Washington state.

The deal was approved with a 77 percent “yes” vote. Highlights of the agreement include a three percent raise each year of the contract, increased company contributions into the IAM pension plan, improvements in sick leave and vacation time, and new options for health care coverage.

“You never know what the future holds, especially in these recessionary times,” said Dan Kautzman, a Doss Aviation employee who was on the union’s negotiating team. “Having your wages and benefits in writing gives you security and the ability to plan for your future.”
This is the second union contract for Doss workers, who joined District 751 in 2009.

“This group has continued to improve their lives since making the decision to join the IAM,” says IAM General Vice President of the Western Territory Gary Allen. “Their new contract proves that skilled workers, together with talented IAM representatives, make a difference. Congratulations to everyone involved.”
