IAM members Jack Williams and Eric Kratzer will become vice presidents of the Ohio State Council of Machinists, effective September 1, 2016.
The move comes alongside an announcement from Council President T. Dean Wright, Jr. that the West Virgina State Council of Machinists will merge into the Ohio State Council of Machinists. Ohio’s executive board, with the approval of the IAM’s Grand Lodge, took action to include a West Virginia representative on its board.
Williams recently retired from Tecnocap, LLC in Wheeling, WV after 27 years as an electrician. He has proudly served Local 818 as its Secretary-Treasurer since 1997. He also serves as the Conductor-Sentinel of District 54, and as a delegate to the West Virginia AFL-CIO, the Marshall-Wetzel-Tyler Labor Council and the Ohio Valley Labor Council. He was formerly the Secretary-Treasurer of the West Virginia State Council of Machinists.
Kratzer is the currently serving as president of Local 912, which represents approximately 600 IAM tradesman at the General Electric Aviation Facility in Evendale, OH. Kratzer, an 18-year IAM member, is a machinist by trade and has served his local as the Legislative Chairman, Organizing Committee member, Trustee, Committeeperson and Vice President.
“These additions to the Ohio State Council maintain a great balance by making sure that the different regions of our state are represented,” said OSCM President T.Dean Wright, Jr. “Brother Williams brings a wealth of experience serving the IAM for decades at every level, and from the perspective of a retiree. Brother Kratzer also brings a background of working with an employer that depends heavily on legislative action for its contracts that provides for our nations national defense, and the members play a large part in that.”
