IAM Local 2053 members who work at Metalcraft in Mayville, WI are some of the latest members to benefit from the IAM’s new Field Negotiation Prep Program.

“With the flood of information available to our committee, we knew it would be an intense week and it was,” said Sandy Fischer, chair of the bargaining committee. “We found the Negotiation Preparation class to be educational, inspirational and motivational. With all these resources, there really is strength in numbers.”

One of the primary aims of the Field Negotiation Prep Program is to strengthen the critical role stewards play in the bargaining process and their vital link between membership and the negotiating committee. The Field Negotiation Prep program is available to groups unable to travel to the Winpisinger Center and offers a flexible format for negotiating committees, stewards and members.

It’s already been met with rave reviews from two IAM Locals in Connecticut.

“While never able to replace the full Negotiation Preparation program at the Winpisinger Center, this field module came as close as you can get,” said District 10 Business Representative Scott Parr. “To add this as one more tool to our arsenal is priceless.”
