The week of August 13-18 the Annual IAM&AW Safety and Health Conference was held at William W. Winpisinger Education and Technology Center located in Hollywood, Maryland. The course provided through the International Association of Machinists Corporation for Re-Employment and Safety Training (IAM C.R.E.S.T.) provided training to 72 safety and health representatives and safety activists from the U.S. and Canada the basic tools to assist members and workers identify workplace hazards.
Subjects covered were How To Set Up A Joint Labor and Management Safety Committee, How To Perform Workplace Inspections, Perform Accident / Incident and Near Miss Investigations. Additional subjects included Personal Protective Equipment, Ergonomics and Genitics Testing In The Workplace.
