At 8:00PM EST, Monday June 24, 2019, the Union Coordinated Bargaining Committee was presented a Final Proposal by GE. This concludes twenty (20) days of negotiations in Cincinnati, OH, one day after the 2015-2019 collective bargaining agreement expiration of midnight, June 23, 2019.
IAMAW Local 78 – Milwaukee/Waukesha, WI, Local 439 – Warrenville Heights, OH, Local 912 – Evendale, OH and Local 1916 – Milwaukee/Waukesha/Oak Creek, WI, with the support of the IAMAW DOES NOT RECOMMEND ACCEPTANCE.
The IAM Local Lodge committees voted 100% not to support the GE Company package. Committee representatives feel the contract package does not reflect the value our members bring to the GE Company.
General Vice President Brian Bryant, Director of Collective Bargaining Craig Norman and Aerospace Coordinator Rod Hoffman, support the Locals decision and demand that GE Negotiators return to the table immediately to negotiate Local issues. We also encourage all other CBC Union members to join the fight and demand a fair and equitable contract from GE.
The final proposal will be provided to the membership when available and include all local and national negotiated changes. Ratification and strike vote date, time and location will be identified and communicated to the membership of each union when appropriate.
Your negotiating team feels that the company’s offer does not represent a fair and equitable benefit and wage package for the labor of our members.
