Alaska Airlines Hazardous Material Enhancement Awareness Train the Trainer Program in Anchorage Alaska

During the week of August 15 – 19, 2011, four I.A.M. C.R.E.S.T Associate Instructors from IAM Local Lodge 601, District 142 at Alaska Airlines in Anchorage Alaska, completed a Train the Trainer program that will help them to train others about the hazards of shipping dangerous goods in the airline industry. The CREST Associate Instructors demonstrated a professional ability to deliver quality training.

The classes were developed by IAM CREST specifically to enhance the current training provided by Alaska Airlines. Workers who handle dangerous goods by air receive training under a grant funded by the DOT Pipeline and Hazardous Material Safety Administration.

The classes can be delivered to Alaska Airlines hazmat employees and address the importance of identifying dangerous goods, the associated hazards, and proper handling procedures.
