I.A.M. C.R.E.S.T. Hazardous Material Enhancement Awareness Train the Trainer Program

IAM District Lodge 141
at William W. Winpisinger in Hollywood Maryland
May 20 – 24th, 2024

During the week of May 20 – 24th, 2024, eight new I.A.M. C.R.E.S.T Associate Instructors from IAM District 141 representing American Airlines, completed a Train-the-Trainer program.  This class is designed specifically to provide the skills to train other workers about the hazards of storing, shipping, loading and unloading dangerous goods in the airline industry. The IAM CREST Associate Instructors demonstrated a professional ability to deliver quality training.

The training modules were developed by IAM CREST specifically to enhance the current training provided by American Airlines.  Workers who handle dangerous goods by air receive training under a grant funded by the DOT Pipeline and Hazardous Material Safety Administration. This training is an example of how the IAM demonstrates a pro-active approach to delivering quality training.

The individual training modules can be delivered to American Airlines hazmat employees and addresses the importance of identifying dangerous goods, the associated hazards, and proper handling and shipping procedures.
