This week IAM CREST provided a 10-Hour OSHA General Industry Standards Course to IAM Safety Representatives and Safety Committee members of District Lodge 776 and management representatives from Lockheed Martin and Elbit Systems of America.  The course is designed to present detailed information on how the provisions of the OSH Act may be implemented in the workplace.  Topics covered are rights and responsibilities under the OSH Act, the appeals process, recordkeeping, reading OSHA standards, walking working surfaces, exit routes and fire prevention, hazard communication, basic electrical safety, selecting personal protective equipment and chemical protective clothing.  Upon completion of this course, students received a 10-hour OSHA Outreach Completion Card issued by the Department of Labor and a Completion Certificate from IAM CREST.
