In recognition of his efforts to improve public transportation, long-time IAM activist Doug Sizemore received the Royal Coachman Award from the Southwest Ohio Regional Transit Authority (SORTA). In addition to his position as Executive Secretary-Treasurer of the Cincinnati AFL-CIO Labor Council, Sizemore served as a member of the SORTA Board for more than two years.

“Doug continues to be an asset to the IAM in his capacity at the Cincinnati Labor Council,” said Eastern Territory GVP Lynn D. Tucker, Jr. “More important, Doug is an asset for working men and women, not just in the IAM and Cincinnati, but all across Ohio.”

Sizemore’s career of union service includes membership of the Molders Union in Miamisburg, OH and the United Auto Workers (UAW) in Evendale, OH before joining IAM Local 912 in 1985. As an IAM member, Sizemore has served as steward, chief steward, trustee, organizer, business representative and was directing business representative. In January of 2010, Sizemore was appointed to serve on the General Board of the National AFL-CIO.
