Support for 13(c) Comes from Republicans

Representative Bob Ney (R-OH) was joined by 29 other Republican members in signing a letter to T&I Committee Chairman Don Young (R-AK) urging him to reject the Senate proposed changes in 13(c) protections for transit workers.

The Congressmen in their letter point out, “Every surface transportation reauthorization bill enacted since 1964 has been linked to a strong labor policy. We find no basis to modify our long-standing commitment to the workers who provide safe, secure, and efficient transit services to our nation’s communities, and thus we urge you to oppose inclusion of the Senate modifications to Section 13(c).”
