TCU Responds to Member in Need – Thank You

On April 15th, 2011 TCU/IAM Local Lodge 861 member, and Financial Secretary-Treasurer, Shantell Berry and her family lost their home to a devastating fire. Many TCU members from around the country responded with money and clothing donations. Not only individuals, TCU Local Lodges responded as well. TCU and IAM also both gave donations from their Disaster Relief funds.

These kind and timely responses have allowed Sister Berry to re-locate her family and begin the process of obtaining a more permanent housing solution for the needs of the family. The clothing donations have given the family support and warmth.

“The generous outpouring of assistance provided by everyone has been wonderful. On behalf of the family, I would like to express thanks that go beyond just words,” said former TCU Local 861 Chairman Brian Sawyer.

“I am proud of everyone that was able to help our sister get back on her feet and make a difference in this time of need,” said TCU President Bob Scardelletti. “TCU is a family and at times like these I am glad we can come together and provide support when members of our family need it. Thank you.”
