TCU/IAM Sends Letter in Support the Organizing Efforts of the Train Dispatchers

The American Train Dispatchers Association (ATDA) is in the process of trying to organize the Train Dispatchers on the Union Pacific Railroad (UP).

TCU/IAM sent a letter to all train dispatchers working on UP, asking them sign an authorization card and vote for ATDA.

In the letter TCU/IAM President Bob Scardelletti said, “I urge each and every one of you to give this matter your utmost attention and do everything within your power to promote union representation for Train Dispatchers. The ATDA has a long proud history of providing excellent representation to Train Dispatchers throughout the Railroad Industry.”

“On the UP Railroad, the Transportation Communications Union (TCU) represents Carmen, Clerks, Supervisors and Yardmasters. You can check with any of those employees and I am certain they will tell you that they are much better off with their union contract.”

“Wages, rules, health and welfare and working conditions are all secured by a union contract. Things cannot change at the whim of the company. The union is there to protect its members.”
