The IAMAW and the UAW hosted a Worker’s Memorial Service on April 28, 2006 in Cincinnati, Ohio. Members and labor
leaders from all over the Tri-county area packed UAW Local 647’s Hall. IAMAW International President R. Thomas Buffenbarger was the keynote speaker. Guest speakers included UAW Local 647 President Gary Jordan, IAM Education Representative and Cincinnati AFL-CIO Executive Board Member Doug Sizemore, IAM Local 912 President Matt Louiso, Cincinnati AFL-CIO Executive Secretary-Treasurer Dan Radford, and Cincinnati City Councilman David Crowley. Also in attendance was the IAM Eastern Territory Staff.
A special tribute was given to Jeff Roy and his family. Jeff was killed on the job at GE in 1986. Others honored were I.P. Tom Buffenbarger from IAM Local Lodge 912 and a Lifetime Achievement Award was presented to Cincinnati AFL-CIO Executive Secretary Treasurer Dan Radford.
