Cincinnati to Host 2011 MLK Conference

The 2011 AFL-CIO Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday Observance will take place January 13-17 in Cincinnati, OH, one of the last stops on the Underground Railroad.

“As in past years, the event will feature an array of speakers, workshops, an awards dinner and a day of community service,” said IAM Executive Assistant Diane Babineaux.

“Cincinnati is a city rich in civil rights history. The IAM looks forward to taking in that history as the leaders of both human and labor rights once again join together. I encourage any local that can send members to do so.”

The reduced conference registration fee is $150. Registrations received after Friday, December 17, 2010 will be assessed a $30 late fee. A hotel rate of $89 plus 17 percent tax has been negotiated at the Millennium Hotel Cincinnati. Reservations can be made online at www.millenniumhotels.com/cincinnati. Use the access code: 1101AFLCIO.
