Federal Funded Transportation Projects to be Made in the USA

The trains that are ridden in the U.S. should be built in the U.S., federal Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood said.

LaHood plans to issue proposals that would require any federally funded transit projects to feature trains built in the U.S., as well as comparable mandates for highways.

“Our money is going to go to American manufacturers,” he said, shortly before speaking at a groundbreaking ceremony for Seattle’s Mercer Street rebuild.
